Why Should I Join NYRMS?
We are a professional organization that strives to further the goals of SSA from a management perspective by having an open dialogue with regional leaders. Many current agency leaders are former members of our association. The Management Association serves as a voice for field and TSC management with the primary purpose of improving service to the public. Members can share input on many issues through this regional association. We work with the National Council of Social Security Management Associations. Together we have been instrumental in advocating for higher budgets for SSA, increasing the rate of overtime pay for managers and supervisors, influencing policy changes, streamlining procedures within the agency and gaining improvements in automation and other systems enhancements needed for greater efficiency. We have also been instrumental in obtaining upgrades for several field office and TSC positions. - The Management Association is a respected organization that represents your interests in a positive and professional manner. You will be joining an active and vibrant organization of your peers. We provide an unfiltered voice for communications between field offices, TSCs and other SSA components.
- You can make a difference. You can raise issues and make suggestions for changes that can improve our service to the public and our overall work environment. Our organization gives members the opportunity to express concerns, problems and views through a collective voice.

NCSSMA Committees
As a member of NYRMS, a portion of your dues are paid for your membership with the National Council of Social Security Management Associations (NCSSMA). NCSSMA represents management from the regional management associations and advocates to improve management and program administration in SSA. We are pleased to share the NCSSMA Committee Roster for Fiscal Year 2024. Each committee is made up of one management association member from each region. Participation on these committees allows you to work alongside various components and collaborate with management peers nationwide. This is a great opportunity for self-development, as members will participate on conference calls, work on new agency initiatives and important communication, based on national resolutions.
